“UNICO” CJSC’s Civil Engineering Layout Laboratory was put into use at AZMIU

A new laboratory, a specialized engineering center and special auditoriums were made available within the framework of collaboration with the private sector at the Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University (AZMIU). The project, which was implemented in accordance with the state’s strategic objectives regarding collaboration between universities and the private sector, has created new opportunities in the field of education and innovation at AZMIU.

We would like to note that the said cooperation with AzMIU, as well as our participation in the event held last week organized by the State Agency for Vocational Education, is the first stage of our series of events related to education, personnel development and youth support.

WE MET WITH OUR WINNERS AT THE OLYMPIA!

Vugar Guliyev and Amil Jabiyev, fourth-year students at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Baku State University (BSU), achieved great success at the International Mathematics Olympiad in Blagoevgrad, jointly organized by the American University and University College London in Bulgaria. Vugar Guliyev won first place and a gold medal, while Amil Jabiyev secured third place and a bronze medal.

Continuing our tradition, we held a meeting with these outstanding individuals who represent our country on the international stage. During the meeting, we had a conversation with our winners, who shared their success stories and future plans. On behalf of the Unico family, Vadim Abdullayev, Group CFO, and Zaur Zeynalov Lawyer and Head of Human Resources and Administrative Affairs, expressed their gratitude to our winners for bringing honor to our country. They also emphasized that Unico will always stand by these young people who elevate our nation’s name and are ready to support them.

WE CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN OUR FRIENDLY RELATIONS WITH THE ENVIRONMENT

Yusif Ahmadov, a representative of UniPro LLC, a subsidiary of UNICO CJSC group of companies, participated in the national conference “Implementation of Circular Economy in Azerbaijan: Development of Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production in Manufacturing Enterprises”.

A national conference sponsored by the European Union, organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) within the framework of the activities envisaged for Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production (REEF) covering the EU4Environment initiative, on May 13, 2024, at the Park Inn Radisson Hotel in Baku has been organized.

The purpose of the conference is to emphasize and promote sustainability and green development in manufacturing enterprises in Azerbaijan by showing the advantages of RSDTI during the transition to a circular economy.

As a result, the main topics of discussion were the following:

  • Implementation of RSDTI as a step to achieve a circular economy.
  • Using eco-industrial parks as a strategic approach to environmental sustainability.
  • Application of Product Ecological Footprint to enter the EU Single Market for Green Products.
  • Mobilizing finance and investment to facilitate the transition to a greener economy.

Staying true to our tradition, this time we had a meeting with our next chess CHAMPION

Our honor this time is Ulviyya Fataliyeva. She scored 8.5 points in the European Women’s Chess Championship held in Rhodes, Greece and was unreachable for her opponents and was awarded the gold medal of the European Championship. It should be noted that the European Chess Union has been organizing the individual European Championship among women since 2000. Ulviyya Fataliyeva went down in history as the first Azerbaijani female chess player to win a gold medal in the individual continental championship.

At the meeting, our winner shared his success story and plans for the future. Vadim Abdullayev, head of finance and deputy director of the group of companies, on behalf of the Unico family, expressed his gratitude to the lady champion for the success she brought to our country, and noted that she is always with our winners and young people who raise the name of our country, and is ready to support them.

We have now joined the United Nations (UN) Global Compact

We are pleased to announce that we have now joined the United Nations (UN) Global Compact

By joining the initiative, we plan to improve our performance in the areas of environmental, social and corporate governance, to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as well as to the country’s economy more broadly. In addition, we commit to follow the 10 principles of the Global Compact on human rights, labor rights, gender equality, environmental protection and anti-corruption.

Also, as a participant of the UN Global Agreement, we further adapt our activities to the directions and commitments of green development, the current year has been declared the “Year of Solidarity for the Green World” in our country, and the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) Taking into account that it will be held in Azerbaijan, we would like to inform you that we pay special attention to environmental issues, application and promotion of green technologies in our activities.
